Speak. Release. It's typed.
iSaySo is a dictation tool for macOS. Hold a key, talk the way you actually talk, let go — clean text appears at your cursor in whatever app is in front. Fillers, false starts and "no wait, Thursday" are resolved before anything is pasted.
The Free plan runs entirely on your Mac with unlimited words. Sign in when you want to and get a 2,000-word trial of Pro; when it ends you are back on Free, and nothing is charged.

What it does
Everything below is in the app today. Tags show which plan each feature runs on.
Text at the cursor, in any app
Mail, Slack, a terminal, a CRM text box. Hold right ⌥, speak, release. Quick-tap to lock hands-free; tap again or pause 2.5 s to finish. Long notes are transcribed and cleaned while you are still talking, so the text lands about 2 s after you stop, however long the note. The clipboard is restored afterwards.
Fillers and self-corrections removed
Two stages: speech recognition, then a rewrite. Fillers and false starts go; backtracks are resolved ("send it to John — no wait, Thursday" keeps the correction); punctuation is added; spoken commands ("new line") are applied; tone matches the app in front — terse in Slack, complete sentences in Mail, structured in a doc. Free does fillers, commands and capitalisation with rules; Pro uses a language model for the rest.
Accents and names right the first time
It reads what is on your screen — the names in the chat you are replying to, the text already in the box — plus your Contacts and a personal dictionary, so "cash" stays "cash" in a thread about money and becomes "Kash" in a thread with Kash. Indian-English and other accents are handled. If you fix a word after it pastes, the correction is learned and applied next time.
Edit by voice
Select text in any app, hold the key and say what to do: "make this formal", "translate to Kannada", "shorten", "turn this into bullets", "fix the grammar". The selection is replaced in place.
Select text and ask
Ask a question about what you selected — "what are the key points?", "what does this clause mean?" — and the answer appears in a small overlay beside your work without touching the document. Say "read this out" and it is read aloud in a natural neural voice; the hotkey, Escape or the Stop button ends it.
Writes the way you write
After a dozen dictations it builds a profile of how you write — sentence length, greetings, sign-offs, the words you use — from your own output, and shapes later dictations to match. You speak loosely; it comes out as you would have typed it.
Processed, not stored
On Pro, audio is sent over TLS, transcribed and discarded; recordings are never stored, and only word counts are kept for billing. There is no API key on your Mac — a revocable device token in the Keychain. On Free, nothing leaves the device at all.
Works without internet
Free needs no connection: recognition and cleanup run on the Mac. Pro falls back to the same on-device path automatically when the network is down, tells you so, and resumes cloud processing when it is back.
Usage in the menu bar
The menu bar shows this month's words and dictations, your plan, and on Pro the words remaining and renewal date. A one-click usage report copies the monthly breakdown to the clipboard.
Latency and accuracy
Figures are for Pro, measured on Apple Silicon from the US and India; your network adds or removes a few hundred milliseconds. Free runs Whisper small on the Mac: raw word error rate is roughly 10% on the same clips, higher on accented speech and uncommon names, and self-corrections are left as spoken.
Free vs Pro
Free is the whole dictation loop on your Mac, with no limit on words. Pro moves recognition and cleanup to our models and unlocks everything that needs them.

FAQ
Is the free plan really free?
Yes. Free runs entirely on your Mac — Whisper small for recognition, rules for cleanup — so it costs us nothing per word and has no word limit, no time limit, no account and no card. It is not a trial of Free; it is the product's offline mode, available to everyone, for as long as you want it. The 2,000-word Pro trial is separate and only starts if you sign in.
What's different in Pro?
Recognition and cleanup move to our cloud models. That is what makes the difference on accents, uncommon names and self-corrections ("John — no wait, Sarah"), and it is what Command Mode, Companion answers and read-aloud, name correction from on-screen context and the writing-style profile need. The dictation loop itself — hold, speak, release, text at the cursor — is the same on both plans, and Pro still falls back to the on-device path when you are offline.
What happens when the trial ends?
The app returns to Free on its own. You keep dictating on-device with unlimited words; the cloud features switch off and the menu bar says so. No card was taken, so nothing is charged. Upgrade from the menu bar whenever you want Pro back.
What happens to my audio?
On Free, nothing leaves your Mac. On Pro, audio is sent over TLS to our service, transcribed, and discarded; we do not store recordings. The resulting text and the nearby on-screen context used for name disambiguation (up to ~1,500 characters; password fields are never read) are processed to produce the result and are not retained. A per-dictation ledger keeps word counts and duration only, for billing.
Is there an API key on my Mac?
No. The model provider key lives only on our server. Your Mac holds a revocable device token in the Keychain, issued when you sign in with an emailed code. Sign out from the menu bar to revoke it. Free needs no token at all.
Does it work offline?
Free is offline by design. Pro falls back to the same on-device recognition and rule-based cleanup when there is no connection: fillers and spoken commands are handled, but self-corrections, name correction from context, Command Mode and Companion are not. It tells you when it is in this mode and resumes cloud processing when the network is back.
Which Macs?
Apple Silicon (M1 and later), macOS 13 or newer. On first launch macOS asks for Microphone, Input Monitoring and Accessibility permissions; Contacts is optional and improves name spelling on Pro.
How do I count "words"?
Words in the final text pasted at your cursor, counted only when a dictation ran on the cloud. Free dictations and offline fallbacks are not counted. A typical sentence is about 15 words; the trial's 2,000 words is roughly 130 short messages. The menu bar shows words remaining at all times.
How do I cancel?
Stripe subscribers: Manage subscription… in the menu bar opens the Stripe portal. Cashfree (India) subscribers: use the account page, which shows your plan and has a cancel button. Access continues until the end of the paid period, then the app returns to Free.
